A 60-day cruise circling the Land Down Under was terminated following the death of an older lady who was abandoned by the ship on a remote tropical isle.

Suzanne Rees had been hiking on Lizard Island with shipmates from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the group for a pause. The liner departed without her and returned after some time after the crew became aware the woman was unaccounted for.

An extensive rescue mission located her remains the next day.

Investigative bodies are examining the incident, in coordination with police and the official investigator.

The CEO of the shipping company stated that travelers and staff on the ship were told that the rest of the voyage had been terminated due to the "sad loss and previous technical problems".
